Darin began his career racing BMX bikes at age of 5 before moving up to kart Racing. He competed in kart races at Go Pro Motorplex, in Mooresville, NC and then WKA Road racing Series on iconic tracks like the Daytona Road Course and the Charlotte Roval.

In his early teen years, Darin started competing in the NASA Southeast Spec Iron Series in a SI Mustang. He was a consistent front-runner and won 9 races in 2021. Showing his demonstrated experience at the Daytona Road Course, Virginia International Raceway, Road Atlanta, Mid Ohio, Sebring, Carolina Motor Park and Roebling Road. In just his sophomore year running the series, Mock chased down the points while executing a last lap pass to claim the win at Road Atlanta and claim the 2021 Champions title in the NASA Southeast Spec Iron Series. During Darin’s NASA Southeast Spec Iron Series Championship season, Darin competed in 3 TA2 Trans Am series races, a accomplishing a top ten finish in his very first outing at Mid Ohio. 2022 was his first full season with Mike Cope racing resulting in multiple top-10 finishes.

Darin brings his experience and his family roots in racing. Darin is the son of Butch Mock former winning NASCAR Cup Series owner in which Neil, Bonnett, Todd, Bodine, Dick Trickle, Lake Speed and many others drove for his race team. In his free time Darin is an avid guitarist.

Darin is a national spokesperson for EB Research Partnership (EBRP) is the largest global non profit funding to discover treatments and cures for Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a devasting life threatening genetic skin disorder that affects children from birth. The kids are referred to as butterfly kids. Founded in 2010 by Jill and Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam). Darin has partnered with EBRP to bring awareness and host a series of fund raisers across the country to race for a cure.

Darin is running the full 2023 TA2 Trans Am series for Nitro Motorsports, owned by Nick Tucker.

Mooresville, NC Based Nitro Motorsports is owned by Nick Tucker. Nick Tucker a racer himself who has driven and built cars for both asphalt and dirt competition. Nick has a diverse background having driven karts, late models, stock cars and open wheel sprint cars. Competing in ARCA, The NASCAR Truck Series. He handles the Toyota Racing Driver Development program in karting and in the TransAm Series. Nick has built his winning TA2 TransAm Series team on the success of Nitro Kart, a multi-time championship team on multiple levels of karting. He likes what he sees in Mock and knows the best if yet to come for his driver. “I see a lot of potential in Darin and he’s a great fit with our team,” Tucker said. “Road courses are being added by many series. Darin has a knack and we are looking forward to bringing out the untapped potential we see in him.” Mock is matched with multi series winning crew chief, Ron Otto. Ron brings a wide range of experience from NASCAR, Xfinity , Craftsman Truck and ARCA series. The combination of Mock and Nitro is already proving to be highly successful.
